DEMOLITION_021293
Image 19 of 54
A sad scene as the demolition of Westbury depot takes place on 02/12/93. Another short sighted decision as the site remained waste ground until 2010 when Network Rail opened a track recycling centre on the site. With the depot buildings and the old BR traincrew building by the station long gone NR & FGW staff are provided with portakabins due to the lack of bricks & mortar !!!. Also of note is the same contractor, John Stacey, was used for the groundworks of the new recycling centre!!!
